Need For Hepatitis B Vaccine at Birth

Hepatitis B ek bhut hi significant global health issue hai jo ki poori duniyan mein sbko impact karta hai. It could be chronic or acute. Isiliye there is a crucial need for Hepatits B Vaccine. WHO ki reports ke according, 254 million people were living with chronic Hepatitis B as of 2022.

In 2022, Hepatitis B ki vajha se 1.1 million deaths huyi hai, primarily due to complications such as cirrhosis and liver cancer​. Yeh disease infected blood aur bodily fluids ke contact mein aane se spread hoti hai, and transmission from mother to child during childbirth is one of the most common routes in highly endemic areas. Isiliye newborn babies ko yeh vaccine dena is very crucial!

Hepatitis B vaccine ka success rate is 95-100% agar isko soon after childbirth hi de diya jaye.

  1. IAP ke hisab se first dose within 24 hours of childbirth de deni chahiye.
  2. This dose is to be followed by a subsequent dose at 6 weeks
  3. The third dose is to be given at 10 weeks.
  4. The final dose is given at 14 weeks

This schedule ensures long-term protection against Hepatitis B and is especially vital in regions where the disease is prevalent.

  1. Ek 4-dose vaccination schedule ensures nearly 95% against the virus.
  2. New infections ka incidence has dropped by considerably after vaccinations began.
  3. Incidence of liver cancer also dropped significantly in vaccinated people when compared to unvaccinated people.
